Ms. Weir joined Silvergate Bank as Vice President of SBA Lending in March 2007.  She brings twenty-eight years of SBA lending to this new division of the bank.   

Ms. Weir was first introduced to SBA financing in 1979 at the San Diego SBA District Office.  After eight years at the SBA she had an opportunity to join ITT Small Business Finance Corporation, a start-up non-bank lender, and ultimately became its Regional Manager.  ITT specialized in SBA lending on a national basis and, as Regional Manager, she was responsible for the profit and loss, a sales force of twelve, loan closings and the portfolio for all territories west of the Mississippi. 

When ITT was sold, she was approached by Bank of Coronado to head up its SBA Department and in five years she took them from the 16^th largest SBA lender in San Diego County to the 6^th largest and more than tripled the net profits of the department.  In 2002 Bank of Coronado was sold and Ms. Weir joined San Diego National Bank as Vice President/SBA Loan Officer until moving to Silvergate Bank in 2007.
