Community Involvement
A Genuine Interest in the Success of Southern Californians
Silvergate Bank and its employees are committed to helping to build and sustain the communities we serve. We work to help improve the quality of life in these communities, and strive to make a positive difference where we live and work. Each year the bank invests in improving neighborhoods, expanding education, serving the community, and partners with local and regional non-profit organizations to deliver services and programs. The bank also contributes more than $30,000 in financial donations annually in the form of grants and scholarships to charities, community events, and deserving students.
Community Development
Building safe, revitalized, and inviting neighborhoods is one of Silvergate Bank’s highest community development priorities. We work to lend money in support of affordable housing, economic development, and small business enterprise in communities throughout Southern California. Additionally, Silvergate Bank invests in Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI), Minority-Owned Banks, and funds that facilitate affordable housing and small business lending in Southern California.
Employee Philanthropy
The employees of Silvergate Bank are committed to serving the community, and the bank’s time away from work policy for community service enables Silvergate employees to earn 8 hours of additional vacation time for service contributed outside of working hours. The company is committed to volunteerism, and encourages employees to serve throughout the workweek as well. Our employees are encouraged to serve organizations in areas of need such as education and financial literacy, health and human services, and first time home buying programs.
